Why the name ‘Chêne de la Couze’?
Thank you for visiting our new website and for your interest in ‘Chêne de la Couze’ Thai Foot Massage. I hope you will find it easy to navigate our site, but if you run into any problems or have any comments, please let me know and I will try and fix it ;-).
When thinking of a name for our practice, we thought of the thousands of oak trees that we see in this area (and in many places in France) which made us fall in love with France. In Wiltshire where we lived near Salisbury Plain, there were very few oak trees, so seeing so many of them here was very special to us. However, the oak is a very popular element for a name or a logo, so we wanted to add a water element: the Couze river that flows close to our home.

We opened ‘our doors’ on the 1st of January 2025, but I started building the site when the daylight was reaching its minimum in December. That’s why I built a circle out of the wood that came off a silk tree that had come down with a November storm. It bashed our wall and was in the field nextdoor, but luckily our neighbour came to the rescue with a chainsaw to chop the tree up into smaller logs. And these logs are now part of the wood circle! I’m thinking of leaving it like this at least until the 21st of June.
Thank you to my first clients!
So far I’m pleased to say that people in the local area have been surprisingly enthusiastic about Thai foot massage- some of them have even come to try a treatment and they all left happy! What more do I want! I’ve also been very grateful to get lots of useful feedback and tips from everybody who’s been. Thanks very much for making this a good start of 2025!
